Mommy Moments
Oh, food! This has been my constant source of headache long ago when Z was just a toddler. I just resigned from my job. Around that time I stopped Z’s bottle feeding and encouraged him to eat normal food. That was a very difficult period for me as a mommy. Z would take two hours to finish his food. Yes, you heard me right – two really long hours! He would put them in his mouth but then he wouldn’t eat it, it’s like he’s storing it there. It was a cycle of encouraging him, cajoling him, and then when I had enough putting him on time out. Many times I found myself wanting to cry and giving up. I couldn’t understand why he didn’t want to eat his food and I had no one to talk to because our relatives live far away.
Shopping for Food Online
I spend a lot of time browsing the web and looking online recipes. I’m amazed that everything I want to know can now be found right at my fingertips. I’m particularly interested in Asian food especially Japanese since my husband likes Japanese food. Finding the recipe is quite easy but getting the ingredients is another matter. Sometimes I spend a lot of time at our nearby grocery store looking for the right ingredient. Most of the time though, I fail to find it. If only getting the ingredients is as easy as typing away in your computer. Then I heard about eFoodDepot.com. It turned out they have the largest selection of ethnic food online. No matter what kind of ethnic food you are looking – canned, bottle, sauce & condiment, paste, drinks, noodles or snacks and deserts you will find it here. If you’re craving for a Chinese, Indian, Japanese, or European food chances are they have it because they currently have over 4500 ethnic products and the list is growing every day. Their shipping rate starts at a $4.99 which is not too bad. You wouldn’t believe how easily you can find the items you want in their website. It’s very easy to navigate and organized depending on ethnicity, country, region, or category. When I checked their Japanese products I was delighted to find out that they have more than 3,000 products from Japan alone and that some are on sale. There was also a list of the most popular items for that particular category. Probably, what I like most about their site is their vast collection of recipes online. Now if I whip out something from Korea, for example, I can at first check out the recipes they have to offer and then order the hard to find ingredients online. It’s really shopping made easy for a mom like me.
Eat All You Can at Chowking Eastwood
Every time we go out we eat at different fast food chains. We used to eat together at whatever fast food chain Z picked but I realized we can still eat together if I just take out the food I want, this way everyone will be satisfied. Anyway, for a couple of months now I have been taking out food from Chowking consistently and ordering the same thing – Crunchy Breaded Pork Lauriat. I love that I get to eat different things at the same time and only for P100. I can’t resist ordering this every week and I think in the following weeks to come. Read the rest of this entry »
