Christmas 2009...

We were everywhere last Christmas! First stop was at my Dad’s house in Caloocan. Z had a fun time playing with my younger brother. They’re of the same age bracket so they pretty much enjoyed each other’s company. Next stop was to visit our relatives (on my Dad’s side) at Malolos, Bulacan. Need I say that the food was delicious! I think I went back to the buffet table three times! Too bad my Dad got sick so we had to cut our trip short. He had a motorcycle accident the day before. It was nothing serious just some minor bruises but it was enough for him to call it a day. I hope he gets well soon!

Going home, it was S’s first time to drive in NLEX. Yipee, more driving experience for my hubby means less screaming time for him. haha  He’s getting better and better at driving. Thank God!

Our celebration might have prematurely ended at my Dad’s side but for us, the fun was just beginning. Christmas day was also S’s lola’s birthday so we headed to Bicutan for the party in honor of her. We had such great fun there. There was the usual stuff – greeting the birthday celebrant, eating plus they added some really entertaining comedy stuff which made us laugh so hard our stomach ached from laughing. Oh, we wanted to stay there until the very end but poor S had to work that Christmas night so we had to say adios before the party ended.

To say we were tired was an understatement but then I heard my husband say it was his happiest Christmas ever. I guess it was all worth it, wasn’t it. I’m so happy too!

With Love Wednesdays – Family...

Today’s topic is about Families and I guess by now you know about the main characters in my story – S, Z, and me. Although we’re happy with our small family and we’re quite contented with each other we have realized that a mother and a father is not enough to raise a child. At first I thought it was, maybe because that was what I lacked when I was growing up but oh, how wrong I was! I was reading a book a couple of months ago, it was a parenting book (I forgot the title) when I came across a line that touched a nerve in me. What did I read? (more…)

Changes...

So many updates again. To start off the maid I hired left two weeks ago for her enrollment at her school. She said she’ll be back by May 2 and will resume working till the end of May. The original plan was she would be here for two months straight which will give us enough time to find a replacement but as we all know things don’t usually go as planned and she had to say goodbye unexpectedly. Swimming at Rainforest Park in Pasig...

For a long time I wanted to enroll Z in a swimming school.  I wanted him to be active and sporty and not like his bookworm mom and computer geek dad.  Why swimming in particular?  I have no idea but it has been on my mind as long as I can remember.  The problem was our family rarely go swimming so naturally Z is not familiar with the swimming pool.  (more…)

Finally Hired Some Help...

I wrote a new post two days ago so I was so shocked to learn yesterday that that post didn’t get published and is now nowhere to be found. :sigh: So now I have to write it all over again. So what’s new? Contrary to what I said on my previous post, I already gave up trying to do everything myself and had hired someone to help me inside the house. It took a long time for me to make this decision because of the extra cost of course to have another person living in the house plus her salary but I realized the extra time I will have is more than worth it. I also read an article on why it pays to hire help at home. (more…)
