Tired But We Had a Blast!
I can’t begin to tell you how busy we were today. I have been telling you about Z’s first ever birthday party since last week and that moment has finally come and gone. I was so worried last night thinking if we can finish cooking the food on time using our single burner! Imagine, cooking food for 70 people in just one burner?! Yes, I was crazy not to buy a double burner but thank God we made it!
Our day began at 3 am and by 5 am we have not yet finished cooking the pasta for the spaghetti much more the sauce that goes with it plus the hotdogs and the chicken and to think the party was going to start at 7:30 am!
Anyway, we were able to deliver and I want to give me and my trusty helper, Bam, a pat on the back for the job well done. The food was literally wiped out and we hardly had anything for lunch after the party. LOL! That doesn’t matter though as we were so happy especially my little one, of course. More details later on the party itself so stay tuned!

Pizza for Dinner
Today is Z’s birthday and we don’t really have any activities planned because we have coding on our car every Thursday and they’re still having their exams at their school. Z understands and is still quite happy despite the uneventful day. He remarked how cold it was on his birthday and he was right. The air is really freezing outside and I can feel the breeze inside our room. I was able to sleep despite the cold. If only I had an electric blanket then I could have slept more soundly.
Even with those hindrances nothing could stop us to celebrate in our own little way. So for dinner we have two large pizzas delivered on our doorstep. That’s two large pizza’s for just the four of us! We ordered as early as 4:30 but due to technical difficulties in their part we’re still waiting at 8:30 pm. Nothing can dampen our spirits though. We’re famished but we’re still happy for this is Z’s big day.
The Clock Strikes Twelve
It’s so past my bedtime and we have just finished making the invitations for Z’s party next week. The teacher has been bugging me since last week for the invites but I don’t want to send it too early lest they forget it when the day actually comes.
Now it’s past twelve midnight but here I am still typing away updating my blogs and checking out web directories to submit my blogs to.
Suddenly, my husband told me, “This is the same time last year, right?”
“The same time what?” I asked.
“When we went to the hospital to have Z.”
That brought a smile to my face. I didn’t realize it was already January 14, the day we first came face-to-face with our bundle of joy five years ago.
That baby brought unspeakable joy and shining light into our lives.
But time flies really fast and that baby boy is officially five now.
Pretty soon he can read my blogs.
Happy Birthday Z!
Whose Birthday is it Anyway?
Z’s birthday is drawing near and we are pretty excited about it. Our little boy is now turning five! There’s just one small thing, his birthday falls on his examination day and at school they can only have a mini-party on a Friday. His actual birthday is on the 14th so he can either have a party on the 8th or on the 22nd which is the fridays before and after the exam.
We’re not so keen celebrating it too early or too late from the actual date and when we asked Z he said he wants to go to Star City instead which we can do on the actual date. An Outer Banks vacation rental can also be a good alternative. I’m so confused on what to do. He has never had a party his whole life and I think it’s about time he has one. Or maybe we can just go to Star City and then have a small party for him at school after.
What do you think we should do?
