Sporting Dog

When I was little we had two dogs at the house. These are guard dogs to ward off any intruders in the house. Since I didn’t have a playmate these two were my playmates. I would run and they would run after me. Or I would run after them. It was so much fun that I even dreamt about them while asleep.

Anyway, now that I am living in the city I am regretful for my kids who didn’t get to experience running around with dogs. We have a cute shih tzu at the house but you know how small dogs are. They are just content to sleep around.

But all is not lost because my husband and I are planning to buy a house in the province. When that time comes we will surely buy a house with a farm. We will run wild and buy sporting dogs and some sporting equipment like this sportdog 800. Of course, we will still keep our beloved shih tzu and he’s free to rest whenever he feels tired. LOL! We will finally get the exercise we missed after living in the city for so long.

Cool Guitars

My hubby has had enough of my son’s too much playing on the iPad. To minimize his “addiction” he laid our rules and things he should do before he can get his hands on it. One of them is an hour of guitar practice and singing one song everyday.

The first day my son was adamant but after a few minutes of prodding he started practicing. After one hour he forgot he was supposed to stop and hubby had to remind him that he has already done his responsibility for the day.

Anyway, I hope my kids will learn to play guitar as well as their dad. I’m sure someday they will be asking us to buy one of those cool Guild Guitars for them to make good music.

Boracay Here We Come!

Tomorrow we’ll be going to the beautiful island of Boracay. It’s been a well-deserved vacation for our family. We only go out of town once a year so we’re really looking forward to it. I plan to leave my laptop and work behind and focus on only one thing – relaxing and having fun.

Since we’ll be out under the heat of the sun throughout the day I figured this gatorade cooler would be useful to keep our gatorades cool for us to drink. We have to keep our energy high because playing all day can be tiring too. haha!

Chilly January

One thing I haven’t expected is how chilly January is. We have scheduled our annual out-of-town holiday this month and I’m not expecting a cold weather at the beach. I want our beach vacation to be sunny and hot just as it’s supposed to be.

If the weather doesn’t change then we will be forced to buy some jackets to protect us from the weather. It’s no fun getting sick and would be worse if we get sick on vacation. I found some columbia clearance here and I might buy a few items over there for our coming trip.

Pawn Stars

One of my favorite show is Pawn Stars. This airs at Bio Channel every week. The characters include the owner of the pawn shop, his son and their employees. Every day people come to them with an “antique” item to have it appraised and evaluated. Using their knowledge they assess the value of the item. If they like the item they offer to buy it and haggles with the owner until they reach a mutual decision. Sometimes when their offer is too low the owner will refuse to sell but most of the time they agree.

One thing I learned is the pawn shop is interested in all items as long as they have value. If you have air force challenger coins available and you want to sell it they are the place to go. I like watching their show and am happy to learn that they have a new season on. I get to learn about the pawn shop business and also a lot about history.

One of the first things that my husband and I did as homeowners was get new carpet for our new home. We decided we wanted top quality, cream colored carpet along our stairway and entire second floor. It was just what our home needed to add that touch of coziness. As out toddler entered the stages of potty training we did not expect the number of accidents that took place. Thankfully, potty training was a brief time in our lives, but the contamination it did to our carpet lasted longer than we would have liked. Potty accidents are just one of the risks of carpet damage that we didn’t foresee. Toddlers throw up, get dirty, and make a mess. The carpet is a target to all that a toddler can do. Although a good vacuum can pick up all the dirt, it won’t be able to get a deep cleaning with sanitation. You will probably want to invest in a professional carpet cleaner approximately twice a year. Not doing so can create health problems such as asthma and allergies. The longer you withhold on this chore, the harder it will be to get the deep cleaning you need.
