First Time to See His Reflection
I was reading about natural acne products when I heard our shih tzu’s angry bark. At first I was at a loss why he was so mad because there’s just the two of us in the room. I even got scared because it’s almost like he would bite. When I finally realized what’s causing his distress I couldn’t help but laugh. Back in our apartment we don’t have a lot of mirrors so for the first 1 1/2 years of Chewee’s life he has never seen his reflection. In our current abode there are mirrors everywhere. While I’m working he’s here beside my feet and he’s unfortunately facing himself in the mirror. Chewee is naturally friendly with the neighbor dogs but he must have felt exasperated at this strange dog in the mirror relentlessly staring at him. Now he has stopped barking but he’s still staring at himself in the mirror. I wonder if he has finally realized that that strange dog is no other than him.

Bam went to the pharmacy earlier today. I asked her to go there to buy Chewee’s medicines. I also asked her to check out slimming pills so I can get rid of my fatty belly which has been quietly building up over the last two years that I have been staying at home. As much as I like staying here all day my body has suffered from the lack of exercise and I would need slimming pills to get back my old figure.
Unfortunately, Chewee’s medicines were so expensive that I had to postpone buying it. Chewee was prescribed four medicines to treat his urinary tract infection and hookworm. We spent P1.3k for that aside from the lab test which was also approximately the same amount. We don’t care for the expense. We’re just so glad we had the money to buy his meds and we were able to give it to him in the nick of time. I’m still thankful that he seems okay despite of his alarming blood test result. He’s slowly eating, he’s moving from time to time, he’s barking, and sometimes he’s playing with our cat. We breathe a sigh of relief every time he does things like these that we take for granted every day. I’m so glad he’s such a strong dog. We’re looking forward to him getting well and we’ll surely treat him for a haircut at the dog parlor when that time comes. It’s in preparation for the long, hot summer ahead. We want him to be comfortable as possible and his thick hair would make it impossible.

Poor Chewee!
Yes, our dear Chewee is sick. For two days now he has a not so good appetite. That’s really unnatural because we jokingly refer to him as bottomless pit. He never becomes full. He always wants to eat and eat. So we were quite alarmed that for two days in a row he’s been like this. I immediately grabbed my cell phone to text hubby at the office. I told him to come home soon because Chewee is still not eating. I asked him to meet Bam at the vet’s office to which he agreed right away. During these kinds of emergencies I really thank God we have our prepaid cell phones. It’s so affordable and the benefits are endless. For us, the benefit was it probably saved the life of our beloved pet. He got his treatment at the right time. Had it took us more time to get him to the vet’s clinic we don’t know what may have happened. Right now, he’s taking his meds and we’re looking forward to his recovery.
