Happy 18th Birthday, Bam!...

It was Bam’s debut yesterday. Bam is my cousin (my stepfather’s nephew) who we send to school and in turn helps me in the household chores. She’s like a family to us and our home is cleaner and more organized now that she’s around. Z loves her to bits and treats her like a real Ate. I dread the day she graduates and leaves us because she has really been a big help.

So when we learned that she’s going to celebrate her 18th birthday this week we encouraged her to invite her friends. She was happy with the idea and invited her classmates over yesterday. Since I’m quite helpless when it comes to cooking our neighbor and some of her close friends helped her prepare the food.

The food is simple but what’s important is she celebrated this important milestone in her life.

Happy 18th Birthday, Bam. Keep up the good work and I hope you’ll be able to finish your studies and have a successful life ahead. Work hard and never forget to dream and you’ll surely get what you wish for. Life is hard but don’t ever give up.

We’re going Swimming!...

For the longest time we have always been at home during Lent but this year it’s going to be different as we’re going to go swimming tomorrow. It’s going to be somewhere in Cavite and I’m really not sure if it’s in a pool or the beach. I really don’t care as long as it has water for us to swim on it’s enough to make me happy!

So my blog is going to be offline for a couple days. I am going to miss my blogs (and also my readers! yes, the two of you. hehe) because I have so many things to blog about. I am going to announce something major in a couple of weeks or it depends on how long I can keep the secret but one thing is for sure this is going to turn our world upside down. hehe

Okay, gotta go because we have to leave by tonight. Hope you enjoy your vacay too and don’t forget to set aside time to pray and reflect.

Ciao!

Missing in Action...

I have declined so many invitations from my high school friends that I’m really so embarrassed already. When Z had his baptism they all showed up for support but I hadn’t repaid the favor and missed all their important occasions. They are now settling down one-by-one and having their own children’s baptism but I have missed all of those too. I’m really such a bad friend. :( If only Las Pinas was close to our home but it’s really far from us. I can’t go there alone without dragging my little one and my husband but it’s hard to drag them with me. Hubby is already tired from work and I can’t expect him to drive me all the way there. Now this March they’re again planning to go to the beach but I have to say no again. My dad already invited us already to go to the beach and there won’t be enough time for another. Did I tell you I’m such a bad friend? :(

Going to the Beach...

As if my musings were heard a couple of days ago about missing my hometown and the beach, last Sunday when we visited my Dad he invited us to go to the beach this Holy Week. At last, I would be able to see the beach again after three years and Z too! This would Z’s second time to go and I’m so excited for him. I knew he would be hesitant at first but after feeling the sand on his toes and seeing the vast ocean I’m pretty sure he would come to love it too. We would have plenty of time to frolick in the sands as we are going to be there overnight. As of now, I don’t know yet where we would go. My dad said they went to Bataan the previous year but still not sure if we’re going there.

Fun Day...

We’re off to school today as Z and the whole Preschool Department celebrates their Fun Day. Maybe this is the equivalent of family day in their school as parents are required to attend too, sporting the right t-shirt color. Ours is supposed to be orange but I don’t have one so I’ll be wearing something that looks orangey, kinda.
Anyway, we also have to bring food for potluck and since yours truly can’t cook I’ll just be bringing bibingka which I bought from Aling Kika’s. Wish us luck as there’s going to be almost 100 kids in one place plus their bewildered parents in tow which would surely overwhelm Z and his mommy.
