Earthquake...

The news about the Haiti earthquake and its recent 6 magnitude aftershock left me with fear that this might happen to us. In fact, my husband has been carrying a whistle in his pocket for some months now in case something unthinkable – like him being trapped in a collapsed building – would happen. I’m really worried for his safety because he works in an office building and I have no clue if it’s one of the metal buildings that can withstand earthquakes. I hope and pray that this would never happen again to anyone anywhere. It’s really so heartbreaking and I wish the Haitians will be able to survive this tragedy.

Trial of the Decade...

I was watching the news about Andal Ampatuan, the said mastermind of the Maguindanao Massacre that killed more than 50 news people and innocent civilians. As of the moment, many witnesses are already coming out and ready to testify against him in the court. He must get a really good OKC lawyer to be able to get out of something like this. I don’t wish him luck but I don’t wish him ill will either because as they said a person is innocent unless otherwise proven guilty at court.
Let’s pray that this case will turn out the way it should be and that justice will be given to the victims.

2010 Golden Globe Nominees...

The 2010 Oscar Nominees are out and I am so excited to know which movie will get the Best Picture for 2010. I supposed everyone is predicting that Avatar is the movie to beat but we know that nothing is final until it’s actually declared as the Best Picture on stage.

I have enjoyed watching Avatar too but I don’t want to be give out my opinion since I haven’t even watched the other movies yet. Nevertheless, I always like it when the list of nominees come out because then I can choose to watch a movie from the list and I know that chances are the movie I’m going to watch is not going to be disappointing nor a time waster. More than 100,000 Feared Dead in Haiti Earthquake...

Yesterday, we were all shocked to hear the news about the terrible Haiti earthquake. When I first heard about this my first thought was it could have been the Philippines. The prediction was an earthquake here in our country is very inevitable. I shudder just at the thought of that.

According to the news, as much as 100,000 people are already feared dead. Some are trapped under the buildings that collapsed in the country’s “leveled” capital.  An unknown number are trapped inside the buildings, some are already feared dead and some are feared won’t survive very long because of the slow rescue effort. Those who survived were left homeless, without food and water to sustain them.

Here is the heartbreaking scene in Haiti after the earthquake.
