Stair Tools and Stair Parts

Posted by on Feb 25, 2012 in Helpful Tips | 0 comments

When you are taking on a new project of building a banister there are many things you need to make sure you have before you start. You need to make sure you have all the right stair parts. Most manufacturers don’t carry all of their products in stock so you don’t want to get into a project and find that you have to wait a few days or a week to get the right stair parts to complete your project. If you are working on a multilevel building any delay could delay the other sub contractors working on the same project. So you will always be cautious about getting all the right materials ahead of time so the work will flow as smoothly as possible.
When you are installing handrail a really handy tool is a bore buster. This can cut the time on the job down a lot. It will bore out the handrail making the installation of the wood spindles very easy. If you are going to be doing a lot of stair projects it is a pretty good idea to have one on hand. It saves a lot of time and energy. It will speed it up so that you can move onto the next project.

Leather is a Good Investment

Posted by on Feb 13, 2012 in Fashion | 0 comments

Leather is a prime commodity. It is expensive because it comes from animal hide. So when I was buying a belt the other month I was surprised when the saleslady said the one I was eyeing was made from leather. I raised my eyebrows because it only costs P400 so she backtracked and said it was from synthetic leather.

Anyway, I wish they don’t drop the leather tag loosely at stores. Because when you say leather I’m expecting it to be the natural kind from the skin of animals. Also others might believe they are buying a premium product when in fact they’re only buying a replica.

I think leathers are a good investment because they don’t break easily. When they do you have the option for leather restoration instead of throwing it away. I don’t mind paying more for something that will last long instead of paying cheap for something I can use once or twice.

She’s Going Home

Posted by on Feb 8, 2012 in Home Life | 0 comments

After 5 years, we had another baby in the family. He is already one year old now but our schedule is still pretty crazy. He occupies most of my time and he’s the reason I rarely get to update my blogs. If one baby can be so much work I wonder how others with double baby strollers manage their house.

Anyway, I’m pretty sad today because our helper for three years is about to go home. She has been invaluable to us and we treated her like family. Still I hope her success in her life in the future. I hope we had made a positive influence in her life in our own little way.

Wedding Bands for Valentine’s Day

Posted by on Feb 8, 2012 in Fashion | 0 comments

Valentine’s Day is next week and what better excuse do you need to look for new wedding bands? There are so many different metals out there that the decision is harder than it used to be. The most expensive rings are made of platinum. Usually platinum rings are made of 95 percent platinum. The other 5 percent is metals that make them easier to work with. The next in price is 18 karat gold rings. They are the most pure gold that is commonly used in jewelry. The color of 18 karat gold is a magnificent color, if you like yellow jewelry.
Some of the most common newly bought rings are tungsten wedding bands. Tungsten isn’t a precious metal but it has a lot of great qualities to it. They are virtually scratch resistant. So if you work with your hands a lot it is a good type of ring to have. If you are more adventurous you could go with a black ceramic ring. They are scratch resistant as well. Some people don’t like the idea of having a black ring for a wedding band. You can wear them as a stylish ring as well. So with Valentine’s Day around the corner you can consider getting a new wedding band.

My Dream Vacation Destination

Posted by on Feb 5, 2012 in Mixed Bag | 0 comments

My family has just gotten back from our vacation. It was a beach vacation and we enjoyed it a lot. It was the first family vacation we had. I thought that our vacation would be stressful because we had two kids to take care of but I was wrong. We had such a great time that from now on we promised to go on vacation at least once a year!

One of my dream destination is to go to Las Vegas. I want to see the bright lights and the bustling casinos in this city. I am not a gambler but I want to experience the thrill of being there first hand. If ever I would be able to visit Las Vegas or even its sister city, Atlantic City, I would be content playing the slot machines. It’s one of the most popular games in the casino. I know I’ll never get bored playing this game. I grew up watching this in movies and I have always dreamt of playing it even once.

Another thing I want to see in Las Vegas are its famous hotels. I heard the hotels are really grand and luxurious. And of course, I won’t miss the famous fountain of Bellagio. I heard it’s really a spectacular sight to behold.

Anyway, I think we would have to wait for the kids to grow up before we visit. We have to save a lot of money first because Las Vegas isn’t cheap! But I’m sure it would be all worth it. And maybe who knows, when we get there we might also get married for the second time.
