My Guitarist Husband
Part of my hubby’s work requires him to research a lot on guitars. Since he is a guitarist at heart, he loves to know about the latest and the hottest news about guitars. He never fails to show me whenever he finds a guitar that he would like to have someday. Before I would panic every time he would tell me he would buy that guitar someday. I thought he was serious and I panicked because these instruments are not cheap! Before long I learned to take things like these that he say in stride. He’s a musician so he’ll always want to have the next acoustic guitar he sees. But he is also a responsible husband so he thinks a lot of times before making that big purchase. Anyway, I told him why not buy and sell guitars as a sideline. This way he can try as many guitars as he wants and make money at the same time too.

Have you watched the movie, Secretariat? It’s about the greatest race horse that ever lived. At first I couldn’t believe their claim but after watching the movie I was impressed. Secretariat was originally an unwanted horse by the veterans in the business. But his female owner had a belief in him that could not be shattered. When he was wearing his english horse tack he proved his unbelievers wrong by becoming the first US Triple Crown champion. His records at the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes still stand today.
The most unforgettable scene in the movie was when he left his contenders by 31 lengths in the race track. For your info, 31 lengths (1/16 mile) is a lot when the norm is the racehorses are just seconds apart from each other! This movie is so inspiring. I advice you to watch in on your spare time.

Do you already have plans for Valentine’s day? My hubby and I don’t have any plans yet. We have just come back from our vacation so we definitely won’t be going out-of-town to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I’m thinking of cooking him something special at home instead. Also personalized gifts for Valentines Day would be more economical for budget conscious people like me. I would want to give him an iPhone but it’s out of the budget. haha! Anyway, I’m sure he’ll appreciate my gift to him. What matters is we love each other very much even after spending 10 valentines together.

We have just landed from the airport. We have tried riding Cebu Pacific for the first time. It’s a budget airplane that makes traveling cost affordable for everyone. Buying tickets is done online so everything is a breeze. Even checking in is done on the internet. All you need to do is print the boarding pass and show it to the airport official. This way we are saved from long lines in the airport.
On the way home, we were worried because we weren’t able to print our boarding pass. Hubby said maybe we can just use document imaging by taking a screenshot of it in our iPad. Anyway, we didn’t have to worry because we just showed our itinerary receipt and it was accepted. Technology can really lessen some hassles of traveling.

One of the things that you have to be aware of when making the decision to work online is the possibility of being scammed by “employers.” I just read the Job Scam, by Marcus Evans and my mind was opened to more possibilities on how employers can scam online workers.
One of the red flags is if your employer asks for your bank account details and ask you to send money to another bank account. You will keep a percentage of the amount you send which will be your earning. However, this is a red flag for a possibility of transferring some stolen money. If caught, you can be jailed for theft.
When my husband was looking for jobs online we were really afraid we’ll encounter some of these job scams. So after he was interviewed and accepted by his employer we asked that he be paid weekly instead of monthly. His employer understood and five months later he’s still sending my hubby’s salary. I guess we’re really lucky he got a legitimate job.
Others are not so lucky so to avoid these be sure to protect yourself and be wary of anything suspicious. It is better to be safe than sorry when dealing with online jobs.
