Event Organizing Tips

Posted by on Dec 27, 2010 in Mixed Bag | 0 comments

Event organizing is very tedious. This is because when you organize an event, you have to make sure that everything is perfect and prepared. From stage decorations, invitations, sound, crowd safety and control and much more, organizing an event is never a one-man job. The success of an event lies in the hand of people who are behind it. It must be kept in mind that an event or any social gathering needs to be flawlessly perfect in all aspects to make sure it is a total success.

During such social gatherings, it is always important to check the sounds and sound systems. When you have unclear and faint sounds, it is more likely that your audience will not listen and will get bored and sleepy. Always invest in a good microphone because this is the main tool to get the speaker heard. The speakers should follow next. Once you get the sounds and sound systems prepped, the event will become a hit.

Week 4 TLBC Winner

Posted by on Dec 15, 2010 in Contests | 5 comments

I can’t believe the TLBC Show is only a day away. We are busy preparing for the holidays but we will definitely be there at the show tomorrow.

I know you are all excited too and want to know who is the winner of three VIP tickets to the show. We were a little late in choosing the winner but I’m pleased to announce we finally have one. Here is her winning comment:

I love you, you love me, we’re a happy family. With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, wonít you say you love me too.î This is my sonís favorite song from his favorite character – Barney! He learned the song at the age of 2, by watching DVDs. Now that he is 6, he still keeps on singing it while playing his Barney doll.

Bob the Builder and Thomas and Friends are the other shows which Kyle loves to watch. Whenever we ride the LRT, he would always pretend that he’s riding Thomas while imitating the sound of the train (toooot-toooot!) with an excitement in his eyes. My son for some reason has an extreme fondness with trains. All my exhaustion from my day to day stress at work seems to vanish when I see his face brighten up whenever he sees Thomas and Friends, be it in TV or in toy stores.I personally encourage and support him in watching these kinds of shows as I can see how it helps him build good character and values in his early age. I even witnessed his transformation when he started watching this shows by becoming more malambing and friendly. Unfortunately, his DVDs as well as our television were wiped out by Typhoon Ondoy. Now he can only see his favorite characters in malls. When I learned about this concert and contest, I told myself never to let this opportunity pass without giving it a shot. My son deserves to win the VIP complimentary tickets because I
know that when he wins this he’d treasure and value it more than anyone else. My son Kyle will surely be the happiest kid in the world when he gets to see this concert on December. Hope you let him win and make this
the best gift he’ll receive this Christmas.

Congratulations to Maricell C. Gulapa!  Now your son can watch his favorite TLBC characters live on stage.

Human Growth Hormone Benefits

Posted by on Dec 12, 2010 in Mixed Bag | 0 comments

Human growth hormone has been under extensive study for its uses in maintaining youth and health during the later years of life.

In normal growth and development, this hormone is usually released in high amounts by the pituitary gland during childhood and puberty. Not only does human growth hormone cause an increased release of energy via the body’s metabolic processes, it also promotes cell growth and regeneration and the increase of bone density and muscle mass.

However, as one grows older, human growth hormone levels begin to decrease. This decline in the amount of hormone circulating in the body is evidenced by the signs of aging, including the development of wrinkles and sagging of the skin, waning stamina and osteoporosis.

Human growth hormone supplements that are being sold in drugstores and other health stores have been touted to improve physical function and stamina, prevent and even cure wrinkles, and promote bone growth. However, results vary from individual to individual, with some reporting an increase in vigor and reduction of age spots and wrinkles while others state that the supplements are not effective at all.

Individuals who are considering intake of human growth hormone supplements should first be checked out by a doctor to be sure that he or she really does need it. Obviously, the effects of aging cannot be stopped. But in individuals who are hampered by osteoporosis and waning strength and stamina, these supplements may prove very helpful in the long run.

Door Bolts

Posted by on Dec 9, 2010 in Mixed Bag | 0 comments

A door bolt is a safety device used to reinforce the locking and security functions of a regular door knob or door handle. It is not to be confused with the more secure dead bolt, which comes with a key.

The most common type of door bolt is a chain bolt. This gadget consists of two parts: a chain which is affixed to the door frame and a grooved rectangular base installed on the door. The chain has a ball which is inserted into the groove and slid into place for security. Unfortunately, if you watch crime dramas, you will see that chain bolts are very flimsy defenses as most criminals (and even the police) can still rip the chain apart by kicking the door open.

A more secure type of bolt is the barrel bolt. This gadget also has two parts: a fixer with a notch attached to the door frame and a hinge type base with a barrel or cylinder. After closing the door, the barrel is slid into the notch, thus providing added protection. A variation of the barrel bolt is the foot bolt. Attached to the bottom of the door, the barrel is lowered into a hole drilled into the floor by stepping on a switch.

Stylish Shower Faucets

Posted by on Dec 9, 2010 in Mixed Bag | 0 comments

There was a time when the bathroom is just meant to be that room where one cleanses his or her body. But now, not anymore. Gone are the days when the bathroom is just a single cubicle with a toilet and shower. Now, bathrooms should be just as exquisite and stylish as the rest of the house, especially its fixtures such as shower faucets.

Standard shower faucets are dull, stainless steel items, consisting of shower heads and water knobs. The current crop of shower faucets come in a variety of colors and styles. For a more antiquated look, there are faucets made out of bronze. Some have shower heads and knobs in ornate designs. A good example is faucets with pearl-handled or carved/etched metal knobs. Some shower faucets have accessories added, such as pull out spouts that enables the bather to wash parts of his or her body that they could not reach. A few faucets also have a water heater already added to the ensemble, the color and style of which matches the faucet and other bathroom fixtures.

The most famous manufacturers of shower faucets are Moen, American Standard, Kohler and Delta.

While one could easily buy shower faucets at their local hardware stores, online shops offer a greater variety through their catalogs. It is easy to browse through the catalog and just simply order the shower faucets that best match the bathroom.
