  1. I am a mother of 2 inquisitive girls aged 11 and 4. My firstborn Isabela loves barney since she was 6 months old. I remember I used to buy all the episodes of Barney and Friends VCDs and DVDs. We even have a cable provider installed in our television for her to be able to watch her favorite purple dinosaur.Even my twin sister in Australia sends her a huge Barney talking stuffed toy. And then comes my second child Mikaela. To our surprise she loves Barney, BJ and Baby Bop too. Actually she has a complete set of stuff toys of Barney. The fisrt song she was able to memorized was I LOVE YOU,YOU LOVE ME SONG of Barney. She even learned to speak english by merely watching Barney. And now comes ANGELINA BALLERINA, OMG! she adores her. Believe it or not, she memorized all the names of the characters and even sing along with them. And much to my surprise, she knows all the terminologies in ballet like adagio, allegro etc. We are really in awe when we heard that. Now that we learned that they are having a concert here in Manila, we as parents are overly excited for our kids. :)

  2. Mom: “Son, what is the color of my shirt?” (purple)
Sander: (pauses for a while) B-ney!!
    (Barney daw, LOL!=D )

He was just 1 year and a half then.

  3. My daughter, yana is one year and nine months old. she just started watching Barney and would watch it until she falls asleep. I was very surprised by how she reacts to the songs and sways her hips as they sing. She told me one time mommy barney wow! and oh BJ! And then she says Yey! Baby Buck! I kept on teaching her baby bop! and she says baby bop! but still ends up saying baby buck! she does that on purpose just to make me laugh. So i just want her to see BABY BUCK live!

  4. My daughter hardly ever sits thru any of the cartoons on tv. Except for NEY-NEY! (Barney) ofcourse whom everybody loves. :) When she first encountered Angelina Ballerina, she was playing with her toys. When the show came on, all of a sudden, she stopped and started to watch. Sat thru the entire thing. She calls Angelina “Lina” and attempts to sing to the theme song. My daughter is turning 2 this December and most kids that age usually just say the end of each word. So she’s singing it “Lina…Rina…Lalalalaa…” :)

  5. While waiting for the LRT train; I asked my son.

Mom: Do you want to ride the train?
    Son: Yes mommy!
    Mom: Why?
Son: Because the train is like Thomas, and that guy is the “Fat Controller” (pinpointing to the LRT personnel waiting for the train near the front part, wearing a black hat, and had a big belly)

  6. My child Lianne is really a big fan of Barney and Friends ever since she first saw them on screen (DVD) at age 6 months and till now that she is 3 years old. Our family and friends know how much she loves Barney that during her 1st Birthday someone gave her a Barney stuff toy that is way to big for her. She was so happy to have the toy that she carries it with her even if she keeps on tripping and falling. Barney even occupies a space in our bed as our daughter falls asleep hugging Barney.

  9. my daughter’s turning 5yrs old this Nov. 20, can’t think of a special gift for her until i saw this barney show that will be shown this Dec. since we’re on a tight budget this year, am thinking of giving a gift for her on her birthday plus a christmas gift as in “2 in 1 gift”. she really loves all the characters here esp barney & angelina ballerina , she’s learning ballet and othe dance steps thru this show, and even sings angelina’s introduction song evrynight. i just wonder how happy she will be when we got this chance of winning this contest!their song in school was also patterned from barney’s songs that’s why she’s always being called each time their tacher would ask who knows the song question. we really hope we will win this time!

  10. good day madam..may winner nb ang week1..we are so excited to know who’s the lucky 1…let us know huh…whoever he/she is..we know he/she deserves it..:)MORE POWER!!!!

  11. hi. im a mother of 3 beautiful children. my eldest is 9, my second is 2 and my youngest is 5 months old. my sons love barney and thomas so much. i have a 1 y/o niece also who goes gaga to barney whenever i play my eldest son’s cd. even if he’s far from the radio, just hearing the melody of the song, he would run as fast as he can to our house so he can catch up with barney’s I LOVE YOU song. There was this super funny story about barney. remembering it makes me smile. my brother, his wife and my niece was eating at mc donalds when my brother accidentally bumps into one of his colleagues,my niece was on his head down eating his fries then when he turn to my brother and saw his friend, he said out loud : BARNEY! BARNEY! O BARNEY! my brother burst into laughters and so as his friend. His friend was accidentally mistaken as barney for he was big, tall and funny thing he was wearing a violet jersey! hahahahaha. super addicted to barney.

  12. My daughter savannah 2 yrs of age, loves barney and friends so much.. she’s not tired watching the dvd and dancing with the same steps the whole day.. whenever her dvd stops, she comes to me and say with her cute voice. “isa pa” :)

  13. My son loves watching Barney and friends. Every night he watches the dvd given by his aunt. He even had a singing Barney stuff toy which he embraced every time he sleeps. He cannot sleep without it. He also knows where to find Barney items in Department store. I remember one time someone gave him a stuff toy same color as to Barney, but when my son look at it closely and find out that it wasn’t Barney, he gave it back.. :( bad.. It would be nice if we’ll be able to watch Barney live.

  15. We ended up having Thomas and Friends theme for my toddler’s 2nd birthday party because he’s such a die hard fun. I always check on toy stores adding up thomas train sets, to my ‘to-buy list’ but decided to buy until his birthday to make it more special.

For the mean time, I bought replica thomas sets I saw in market stall on my way home and give it to my Brandon. As expected – he excitedly jump in joy and gave a big hug to thank mommmy.

Funny thing is, as he plays with it- the tracks move along making it into broken railways and he got really irritated.
I was amused with his facial expressions while fixing things up to start over his island of Sodor. It makes me laugh watching him got really serious and determined to fix things to have his train adventure. I help along and promise to buy the original Train sets which I know won’t give him a hard time bcoz of its finest quality. A lesson learned for mommy…ahaha.

And now that he is turning three, he still plays with his Thomas Airport set and Yehey! its still on good playing condition. Now I am planning to buy another set for a much wider Thomas experience. Well, I know he would love it even more if we could have a chance seeing Thomas Live!

    Goodluck to us!!! =D

  16. Thomas his a cheeky one, like my 26 months old son who is extreme avid fan of Thomas and friends. On his first & second birthday, Thomas and friends was our theme. And for sure on his next..next..next birthdays we will make the same theme.
As a parent I want my son to have his self discipline when it comes to TV / CD viewing. I’am so sensitive on what he is watching because I knew it will affect his attitudes, values and behavior. But as I can see him watching Thomas and friends, his very serious, too attentive and imitating Thomas expression. Oh boy! Thomas is really a great and a good model to my son. His helpful, know the values of sharing and being patience. I and my husband would have mold him as loving and a better person like Thomas the train. So I hope my son can see Thomas live performing. To tell you frankly Thomas and friends is not just my son favorite but also us his parents, you can check it out on his facebook and friendster account aquilino_yeshua@yahoo.com.ph. Nice because we have our family customized Thomas and friends Shirt . I’m hoping and praying that we will be chosen as a lucky winner of VIP tickets. More power to Thomas and friends. Thank’s for this opportunity and GOD bless us all.

  17. My daughter, Jewel really loves Angelina Ballerina. Since she’s into ballet class last summer and do love to dance, she is fascinated with the little pink mouse, Angelina. After school, she watches the show in Playhouse Disney. No one can distract her during those time.

One day, I heard her humming. To my surprise, she is wearing her pink ballet uniform and dancing in front of the mirror in the tune of “Angelina… Ballerina…” And she keeps on singing the show’s theme song though the lyrics are jumbled and some words are not understandable but the she’s still in tune!

She is a “dancing star” like Angelina!

  18. Hi again, Paula (last time I called you Joanna). This is my second stab at your contest. I promised my 5 year old son Julian that I would win tickets to the Little Big Club concert for him; now I have to tell him that our entry wasn’t deserving enough :P
He said “That’s alright, Papa” and went straight to his room. Minutes later, he came out holding a purple t-shirt and his purple Crocs sandals. “All I need are purple shorts”, he said. Perplexed, I asked him what for? “Use your head, Papa. If I wear all purple, I will gain free entrance to the show.”
Not bad for a 5 year old. An idea so silly it just might work.

  22. A child’s laughter makes the world so worth living. As their young minds grow they need be nurtured and educated, but in the most fun way. Barney, the violet dinosaur is one o f our favorite.. For over a decade or two, it inspires millions and millions of kids of different ages and also those who are young at heart.
I have a three-year old son, Joaquin. He loves watching Barney over and over again.,same episodes.:) He memorized the song “I LOVE YOU”.. When Barney’s singing the song he imitates it and hugs me saying that sweetest word. I told him “Then you are now Barney?” he told me “No, I am not a dinosaur”…LOL. Another character in Barney is BJ, the yellow one. After recognizing it, he told me “Mama, is that Tito(Uncle)BJ, oh he’s yellow, he’s a mascot..”HAHAHA..My brother’s nickname is BJ. Joaquin is really funny but a smart one.
It took about months for me to know what is the word that he always utters when watching Barney , its “ISTIBAN” (his pronunciation)..And that word is just a name of a character of a boy hiding from a white cloth and that boy is STEVEN..:) ..My bad, poor Mama doesn’t know who Steven is. For about two years Barney is part of Joaquin’s life and daily routine. And this BIG event of Barney and friends will really make a HUGE SMILE for him. An early present for him for Christmas and even other holidays, that is its worth. He is excited to watch it with his cousins and of course me and his Papa. This would be a FAMILY day for us. Sounds that I am begging for this ticket??Definitely, YES.. Please give JOAQUIN this once in a lifetime experience. We love Barney..Joaquin does!!! Even superlatives cannot describe how he is fond of the purple dinosaur..

  23. My son Alee, a 4 yr old, attended his first summer class last April at Little
Bethlehem Learning Center. We were all
very excited and nervous at the same time
for the first day of class.
Parents then were allowed to stay inside the classroom since most of the children
    were quite hesitant still.
As the teacher introduces a picture showing different kinds of animals alphabetically, the funny thing was when
it was my son’s turn to answer the animal
that starts with the letter P on the picture,(obviously it’s a penguin). I am
confident enough that he knew it by heart
he then stood up when he was called and
answered “That’s PINGU”. We all laughed upon hearing that from him. Instead of him answering that it’a a penguin, he just identified it as PINGU, ofcourse his favorite character ever!

  25. I asked my daughter Angeline (4 yo)”Why you should win Tickets to see Thomas,Barney & friends?”

Angeline: I need to see Thomas and Barney if they are big, because in TV they are small.

As toddler, it’s an opportunity to see and confirm the reality of what you are seeing in the telivision. Meeting The Little Big Club live is a learning opportunity that children will never forget during their lifetime, even until they learn to grasp how things happened in real life and in TV.

Mabuhay Little Big Club! See you soon!

  26. One morning I said to my son, “Yeshua, your so stinky. I think you need to take a bath now!” I always put his bath toys in the tub, its his rubber Thomas and Percy. When we are in the tub, my son told me, “Mom, is Thomas stinky too? Coz his always with me during bath time!” Oh men! Well I just answered “A little my dear! I think Thomas&Percy wanna see you always, even in your bath time!” Too curious! Too funny! :-)

  27. It’s my first time seeing Angelina Ballerina on TV and I asked my 3yr old daughter what’s the name of the character on TV. “It’s Angelina Ballerina mama” my daughter said while twirling like a ballerina. “She’s a mouse..” I told her. My daughter said, in her most calm, convincing way, with matching hand movements, “Don’t be afraid mama she’s just a mouse, she’s nice, she won’t bite”.

  28. actually my wife just submitted an entry here. Ad because we love our son dearly, here’s another fun story of Joaquin and Barney.

I was about to go to the province then , a call of work. Joaquin after knowing it, just asked where will I go. I told him Papa will work. “Okay, I will just hug Barney as if it was you Papa”, Joaquin said in a sad voice. And was thrilled after I said ” I will buy you CD’s pf Barney or a big Barney”.

I granted him the first one and by this.. If I will win tickets here, I will grant him just to see a real and the BIGGEST Barney ever.

  29. Hi Mommy Joanna and all the parents who wants to join in this once in a lifetime contest. My wife told me to join this contest because she also joined. We really wanted to win for the VIP tickets, as a Christmas Gift for our son.

I’m a proud father of a two years and 2 months old boy. My son is a early talker baby, at his 20 months he can say a sentence and can count 1 – 10. He loves music too. My wife and I always sing him nursery song coz we used to memorized the lyrics of some nursery songs which is always played by my wife even our son is sleeping at night. One day my son is watching Thomas and friends at Disney Channel. When one episode ended the Thomas and Friends Song played. The lyrics goes like this, ” They’re two, they’re four, They’re six, They’re eight.Shunting trucks and hauling freight…….” Then my son shouted, “NO!!!!!IT’S ….ONE.. TWO.. THREE.. FOUR… FIVE….SIX… SEVEN.. EIGHT… NINE..TEN!!!!” :-) His wondering why the song is counting by two’s! Hehehe… :-P I just explain to my son that’s the lyric in the song! Then he look at me very angry and said “NO!!!” Then me and my wife laughed secretly. :-) So everytime we sang that song we changed the lyrics into want he wanted to be! “THEY’RE ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT, SHUNTING TRUCKS AND HAULING FREIGHT. RED AND GREEN AND BROWN AND BLUE. THEY’RE THE REALLY USEFUL CREW….” =) Nice one!

Hope I made you laughed! :-)

EIGHT… NINE..TEN!!!!” =) His wondering why the song is counting by two’s! Hehehe… I just explain to my son that’s the lyric in the song! Then he look at me very angry and said “NO!!!” Then me and my wife laughed secretly. :-P So everytime we sang that song we changed the lyrics into want he wanted to be! “THEY’RE ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT, SHUNTING TRUCKS AND HAULING FREIGHT. RED AND GREEN AND BROWN AND BLUE. THEY’RE THE REALLY USEFUL CREW….” :-P Nice one!

Hope I made you all laughed! :-)

More power to The Little Big Club- Live in Concert, Philippines! GOD Bless!

  33. just wanna share some stories of my son cian,5 … at the age of 6 or 7 months he loves very much thomas and his friend why i said so? i notice everytime the thomas movie is on, his so behave just watching a movie… thats when we started buying and collecting the die cast metal train… at the age of 1 he memorize all the train he have… as years goes by we bought little by little train and the houses… now at the age of 5 (still addict to it) he has more than 60 pieces (die cast) different character of thomas and friend & 5 or 6 houses & some tomy brand… and now my other son cace,1 is in to it also with thomas influence with his elder brother… not only the thomas but pingu also… my cace always laughing when he watch pingu… they also like barney, bob the builder and angelina (even its for girls)… and i promise my sons we will watch the show…

  34. my son really likes barney ,he was only 7mos old when he got his first barney stuff toy and from then on until now his 4 years old he is still watching barney and every time that barney sings the i love you song my son will hug and kiss me.i know that my son will really happy if we could watch it live.Thank you and Godbless

  35. This once in a lifetime chance could be my birthday/Christmas gift for my soon to be 4yr old daughter.

we will be celebrating our birthdays together on the 10th of November, yes i gave birth to my daughter on the night of my birthday. And hoping to give her this VIP tickets as a birthday and Christmas gift to her since we can’t afford to buy one for her..

Francesca loves to dance and ever since she met Angelina ballerina on playhouse Disney she always twirl, dress up like Angelina, and even on the mall while roaming around she dances.

There this instance that a sales lady asked her of “what’s your name?” she always reply with “Angelina….ballerina” even if i asked her “is your name Angelina?” she answers like this “No mommy, Angelina baaaaallllllerrrriiiinnnaaa”..
meaning: “Please don’t forget the ballerina on it”..

funny little girl, she always make sure to take her nap in the afternoon and wakes up before the episode starts, because she needs to prepare her tutu skirt and a ballet shoes before the opening song “the next steps” play so she can twirl like Angelina do in her opening song.

I am very proud of her ever since she’s 8mos old she’s always watching these character from bob the builder to thomas and friends she has a dvd of this two character but never i’ve seen her love the character so much like angelina ballerina..maybe because the character itself is “kikay” that’s why she loves her so much..

thank you and hope i win too in this contest!

    more power!

  36. I am a single mom with a 4 year old son, who loves BOB the Builder, Thomas and Barney and even Pingu…. when he saw the poster at SM Cinema he was jumping in joy because all the characters he loved was all there in one show (before we’ve watched only Barney show @ Megamall), he is asking me if watching the show will be he’s price for being on top 4 of their class… am sure my son will be so happy seeing the show with all he’s favorite character all together…

  37. my son was a year and a half old and practically grew up liking barney ever since he was 6 months old. it all started when refused to gave back the barney doll of his friend( can you believe it he ACTUALLY LOVE BARNEY EVEN BEFORE HE WATCHED BARNEY ON TV! besides the fact that he did not like hugging dolls..he only like barney, bj and baby bop dolls and reject other dolls). So i bought one of his own and it became his sleeping buddy then.. and the other day after i bought him his own talking barney doll.. i let him watched a clip of barney’s if your happy and you know it and the itsy bitsy spider on you tube and to my surprise (ofcourse he was 6months old then) he laughed and giggled so much upon seeing barney clap his hands. the first time i saw him that happy.. from then on i know he found his best buddy in barney…

so i bought him dvd’s of each and every episode of barney(we will not leave the mall until we have barney at hand)and at 8 months he can do the itsy bitsy spider finger play and the clapping stomping and hooray moves of the if your happy and you know it… and to my surprise again he can do the tapping moves of mr. knickerbocker even before he learned to walk.. and can you believe it the nurse can only gave him his iv injection only if was barney played on portable dvd when he was confined to the hospital… he was hooked to barney that he even like airplanes after hearing the airplane song and loves books now because barney says books are fun and books are great.. and my aunt laughed hard because when he watched barney he really focused on the tv and suddenly shout out loud and began to dance joyously. and when they say bj is the one he’ll gave us one bj look and look for his yellow blankey (he actually have one even before he loved barney). and when he have is barney bag he’ll get it whenever we will sing the barney bag song.. he even invited barney on his first bday but sadly he was disgusted by barney’s mascot color because the mascot was colored pink and barney was purple.(that was his grandma conclusion because he did not want to approach the mascot then) But he loved his 3 layered barney cake.. Until now whenever we go to the malll he ran toward the cake shop where we bought this cake(because the cake was still displayed) and shout and hop up and down(just like what he does when he heard baby bop hop song) and refuses to go, he really wanted to stay infront of the display.. and the only way to get him out there is to go to odyssey and buy some barney cd and he’ll carry that cd home (he did not want to put it in the plastic, the store can conserve plastic from us hahah!!!).. and one time when the room was so messed up.. it just popped into my mind to sing the clean up song and again to my surprise he picked up his toys and put it in its box(i think he imitate baby bop in a clean up episode. and what else he even know that its time to washed your hands whenever he heard the song icky squicky squacky.. and he mastered the dance of you are special song( the dance from barney live in nyc 1993.. and he was not afraid to the winkster only with the rainbow beard the pirate from the rainbow beard the pirate treasure episode)… and to top it all he will cry whenever he sees that the barney episode was approaching its end(an evidence that he knows barney’s episode at heart) ..

OMG!! theres a lot to say.., my son loves barney so much..i think barney is his childhood friend and mentor(ouch! it was supposed to be me) he learned so much from barney and he found a comfort zone with barney(because his tantrums fades when we played barney dvds and he was given a medication when he was hospitalized even though he was afraid of the nurse because he was watching barney).

for me having him watched barney live is more than a x’mas gift because barney made him happy for the rest of the year. it was a milestone for me because i can see my child happy and i feel that his emotional state goes one step up. and they say gave your child what he needs not what he wants but with barney it is not only he wanted to see barney but he needed to see him because that what will make him happy.. and what more can you give to your little ones than his happiness and to enjoy their innocent playful toddler years. and barney can be way for my child to have that. cause i firmly believe that if you make your child happy he’ll grew up well and when to invest in your child happiness is now.. if i did not win this concert we will still go because it is worth the money we will pay for it the experienced and the enjoyment may son will have seeing his best buddy. and a gift to me too because i will see my happy childs face seeing barney and the rest of the gang!!! thank you ….

  38. All thirteen character was so adorable and fabulous, I am excited to watch this and it was a big gift to my kids.

  39. I’m a first time mother, my son is now 17 mos old. Being a first time, I didn’t hesitate in introducing Barney to him as I heard so much about him from friends and colleagues. Ba-yi as what my son called Barney never fails his magic in taming him whenever he is restless or has tantrums. When Barney’s dvd/vcd are played, he just stares at the tv/computer with amazement. And I know ,in his mind he is singing and dancing together with Barney, as always… To be able to see Barney in person would be one great gift to feed his curiosity.. Am so excited.

  40. My 2 years old daughter whose turning 3 this Dec 17 loves barney so much it started when she’s i think 6 to 8 months old when we let her watch a barney DVD for the first time, her eyes got stuck on barney. even if we call her name she doesn’t look at us, she kept on watching. And when we went to a toy store we passed on barney dolls, she kept saying “Bu! Bu!” and pointing towards barney. and when i bring her there, she grabbed one of the barney dolls and didn’t let go of it. thankful that she didn’t grab the barney doll bigger than her.

One time when we brought her to her Pedia for a vaccine, when the doctor is checking her she cries and when she saw the barney sticker on the clinic’s wall, she shouts and reached her hands out saying “Bu! Bu!”. and when the doctor asked who is she calling we told her “its Barney”. then the doctor said “too much watching is bad as i told you before, you see, the child treat barney as her comforter that supposedly her parents…”

Now she’s turning 3 she still loves watching barney, even her younger sister loves it too (1 1/2 years old). they sing and dance when they’re both watching. they even hold hands when the “I love you” song played. so i guess this will be one of our Birthday and Christmas gifts for my daughters. we want them to see barney and the others in person.

  41. i love you, you love me, we’re a happy family with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won’t you say you love me too. my brother loves this song as much as loved this when i was a kid. i deserve to win because i believe my siblings deserve to witness the upcoming magnificent concert of barney and all his friends, especially thomas and bob. i believe that they deserve to be part and experience that once in a lifetime event. i want them to see their favorite characters in person. i want to see their eyes glow and fill their heart and minds with unforgettable memories with their beloved barney and friends. i don’t think there would be another opportunity for them to witness a show like the little big club live in concert. so i badly want to win for them. a young heart filled with love and hope not to mention the joy and happiness to see barney, bob, thomas, angelina and all their friends perform in front of them is one thing i really want to do for them as their “ate.” there would be no other thing that would ever compliment to the fact that my siblings were able to experience a cool show, an entertaining, a worth of a lifetime significance event that most kids just dreamed of or even imagine. i want their dreams to come true. i want them to be happy. i don’t want them to “miss half of their lives” for not being able to watch. i want them to have something to be proud of, they were able to see and experience the GREAT Little Big Club Live!:)

  42. Like most moms out there who wish to give their precious kids the best nurture and care, I also share the same excitement and hope of winning the free exclusive tickets for my young children. When I became a first time mom, I remembered buying my daughter a cuddly talking Barney stuffed toy which she lovingly clings on to while watching her favorite Barney show on TV. And even as a kid growing up in a household with limited means, it never stopped me from doing my best in providing Roshan with the right amount of loving and fun learning guidance that any doting mother would do to her beloved child.
Thus just imagining my now 5-year-old daughter Roshan’s delight in being able to watch the magical performance of Barney and friends live is reason enough for me to try our luck in this contest. As for my newborn boy Juno (whom my daughter now plays with make-believe construction ala Bob the Builder), being able to introduce him to this uniquely enjoyable show will not only be a chance to bond with his elder sister this Christmas — this will be a once in a lifetime experience — a precious gift — which I know our family will forever cherish.

  43. I am a mother of 2 little boys. My eldest, Enzo is 4 yrs. old and the youngest, Luis is 2 yrs. old. They both have their own favorite characters. Enzo loves Barney while Luis loves Thomas.
Enzo has been watching Barney since he was 4 months old. Before turning 1, he can already sing Barney songs such as, “I love you”, “Mr. Sun”, “Colors Make Me”. Still a baby, we can barely understand what he is saying but that makes it more entertaining…all of us guessing the words of the songs he is trying to sing. He loved Barney so much he even recorded his own “I love you” song in my mobile phone which is now my personal ring tone.
Being a Barney fan, guess what his favorite color is? Of course, it’s PURPLE. And since Barney never call this color “violet” which for most of us is…he grew up knowing that the only name for this color is…PURPLE. One of their lessons in day care is about colors and when the teacher called this color violet…he blurted out “No, it’s PURPLE!” So purple it is.
Luis on the other hand was a surprise. Having a “kuya” who loves Barney…you would think he would be a fan as well. He is but not as die hard as a Thomas fan. We didn’t realize he was hooked until we heard him following the narrator of the show. He has memorized each story even down to when the engines say “choo, choo!” You would hear him say to us…”Well done!”, “What’s the problem, Mommy?”, “Oh dear, oh dear!” All of which were lines from the Thomas shows. The funniest was when he would utter…”the deputation”, one of the stories of Thomas. Who would even think that a baby would say that word…even I wouldn’t say that and I am over 30.
One day we swapped cars with our brother-in-law. His car has a built-in DVD player and we popped in a Thomas DVD. Later in the day, we swapped back to our own cars. Luis suddenly cried. He was pointing to my brother-in-law’s car and shouting “Thomas! Thomas!”(we have a portable DVD player in our car but we forgot to bring it because my BIL’s car has DVD player already). We thought he doesn’t want to ride in our car anymore but then we realized he wants to use the other car to watch Thomas. When we were seated in the car, we were trying to console him. Then I started telling a story about Thomas (I tried so hard to remember Thomas stories…so far I got stuck to one scene where Thomas drove without his driver and crashed to the station manager’s house). Did he stop crying? Well, you guess it…yes. And only because of Thomas the really useful engine.

  44. Barney has always been my son’s favorite character, he knows how to sing almost all of Barney’s songs and even dance to them. He had always been wanted to see a real Barney so I’ve been searching for Barney shows this coming December and was happy to find out that there will be “The Little Big Club in Concert”. My son stopped schooling this year due to financial crisis and I thought I could make him happy this Christmas by going to a Barney show. I hope we could win the free tickets. Thank you.

  45. Hi, good day! Winning this contest would be the BEST gift for my 3-year-old son this Christmas, his name is Justin Raine. Watching Thomas’s DVD’s from Season1 up to present is our favorite hubby. Justin Raine is just one of the million fans of Thomas around the globe, but what makes him different from other kids who loves Thomas? At the age of two he can recite all the engines name and knows what their colors are. I am really amazed with what a toy or program like Thomas the tank engine did for my kid, watching Thomas helps my Justin Raine at his formative years. I can still remember him pointing out the MRT and LRT train whenever we see one, he’ll tell me:”mommy mommy THOMAS!!!” while jumping to his amusement! At that exact moment i wish we also have Thomas and friends here in the Philippines so that he can interact with him personally like the kids in U.K. and U.S. experienced. We are really a BIG fan of Thomas and friends, seeing him in person in one big event like The Little Big Club – Live in Concert would really make him happy. God Speed! :)

  46. It was the 65th birthday of my Nanay last September. We decided to have a simple celebration at home with just close family & some friends. One of our family friends, Tita Vernie came and saw my 1yo and 8 months son for the first time. So we told him “Mic-Mic this is Tita VERNIE, say Hi Baby…” Tita Vernie said “Hi, micmic… you’re so big na pala” … to our amazement my son pointed at Tita Vernie and with head swaying suddenly sang “I lah you..You lah me.. ( I love you, You love me)” all of us laughed aloud and were so surprised that my almost 2 y.o. son was so smart to think that Tita Vernie is “Barney”… so Tita Vernie said: “ Well, I love you too, mic-mic!” she bended down to try to kiss my son, and that’s when we saw Mic-Mic’s Barney stuffed toy which was on top of the closet behind Tita Vernie and we realized it was what Mic-Mic was actually pointing at (and not Tita Vernie), and he was singing because he wanted us to get it and let it sing with him… The room erupted with laughter after realizing that the Joke’s on us… However Tita Vernie became known as Tita “Barney” from then on.. :-)

  47. Hello everyone, I would like to share our family’s Barney moments.

I have two daughters who just turned 5 years old and 3 years old this November. Barney was my firstborn’s first love when she was 1 year old. We bought almost 50 Barney CDs and DVDs from National Bookstore. If there are new titles we or her grandparents would buy them because it is her favorite. The CDs were played so often that it developed scratches because of handling. And my girls would come to me with long faces because their Barney shows would skip because of those scratches. And as a father I would try to wipe the CDs and do everything to make it work because that is how they love it so much. When my second daughter was born she easily developed a love for Barney shows because of her “Ate”. Now they are older, they included Thomas and especially Angelina Ballerina. With Angelina Ballerina they would always look at the time if it was already 4pm so that they can watch the show on Playhouse Disney.

However, the most touching moment was when I went to Japan for Management Training. Although it was only going to take almost three weeks it would feel like an eternity because we were never apart. We are always together. When I arrived at Japan I was so surprised to see the most wonderful gifts I have ever received – my wife’s love letter, my eldest’s favorite drawing and my daughter’s favorite Barney stuffed toy. I was so touched that it moved me into tears and immediately felt the distance between us. We communicated via Skype and during our family video calls, I would put the stuffed toy Barney on my shoulder because my youngest daughter told me that Barney will accompany me the same way he accompanied her during sleep. It was a big thing for my youngest, because she would even rock “baby” Barney to sleep and even create stories with her sister as pretend plays.

And did I say that the favorite color of my eldest is purple because of Barney :)
