The recent storm got me thinking about how safe we were in our new place. Thank goodness it was just wind. Our house is quite low so it was protected by the adjacent building and houses from the strong winds. If it was flood I’m sure we would have a problem. We have done renovations in our home. We tried fixing the roof and sealing leaks and we tried sealing the whole house from pests. Still, I think we need to do a few more. I wish we can seal this house from flood but with its current state I don’t think we can. Anyway, we’ll just have to be ready and quick to evacuate when there’s a danger of flooding in our area.
Aside from the house, we’re also worried about the car. With the previous flood we had no car to think of but now we do. It’s parked in a pay garage just across the street and if the flood comes quickly I don’t know what we’ll save first our things or the car. Fortunately, the owner of the garage told us that that place was spared from the last flood. We were relieved when we heard that. At least that’s one less worry for us. But we still have to prepare our car for extreme weather conditions. I think fitting it a window visor would be best so we can be more protected in case we have to use it during a storm. Good thing window visors are not that expensive and it can easily be added to our vehicle.
