A year ago I bought Z a little blue piggy bank. I am a fan of Francisco Colayco’s book about handling money and it stresses the importance of teaching kids early to save money. So at the young age of five, Z already has a bank account and a piggy bank. Now although my son is still in preschool he already has an understanding of how important money is thanks to his worrier mother. In fact, every time he sees a coin he will put it in his little piggy bank. I know now it’s still play to him and he’s putting the money in just for the fun of it but someday I wish he would really get the value of saving up ingrained in him. That’s why I was delighted and was all ears when I heard about this toy called Ekomini.

Ekomini is just like your piggy bank but way more sophisticated. How else can you describe a piggy bank that connects to the computer? Once it’s connected to the computer the kids can then track their savings. Now saving money won’t be boring anymore particularly to our tech savvy kids. They can even learn more about the value of money by playing the online game, Ekominiville.

Now thanks to Ekomini our kids will learn how to save, share, invest and spend their allowances. Our kids won’t be just tech savvy but money savvy too which is more important. Ekomini is ideally for kids from 6 to 12 years old and retails for $39.99.

I have to check out this product. We’re always trying to teach our girls good money habits.
