A Trip to the Dentist
Z took a break from playing with his toy cars and admiring body kits on the road and went to the dentist last Friday. We have visited the dentist a couple of times to familiarize him but this was the first time something was actually done on his poor teeth. We were always hesitant because we’re afraid that he would scream loudly and the dentist won’t be able to finish the procedure but this dentist was quick and before Z knew what was going on she was able to drill holes on his four teeth and filled it with teeth fillings.
As if that wasn’t stressful enough the dentist lost no time and started the procedure on extracting one front tooth. Z wasn’t able to do anything when she stuck the needle into his gums. When the he finally felt the pain he tried to cry out but it was too late as the dentist already had a firm grip on him. LOL! I was shocked too that the dentist was able to do so many things in such a short span of time. His Dad, who arrived a few minutes later, was also shocked at what happened to his beloved boy. We really baby him too much but it turned out we had nothing to worry about as he was able to successfully complete the procedures and bear the pain.

We accomplished many things last Monday. Now I finally realize the wisdom of enrolling Z in the morning class at least we can still go on a roadtrip afterwards and that’s what happened last Monday. Z’s classes start at 7:30 and by 10:30 he’s already finished. During those three hours we did what we have to do online like search for baby shower invitations, bid on opps, and check our emails. When Z got home we ate lunch together and off we went.
First stop was for my antenatal checkup. Imagine my surprise that my baby is now sixteen weeks already! It’s already showing too although I have not started using maternity dresses. Z finally believed there’s a baby in my tummy.
Next, off we went to have the VIP tickets to John Mayer’s concert refunded. It was my gift to hubby but he said it’s more likely that the postponed concert would not push through so we went to get the money back. It was quick and easy with no words exchanged they handed back my money. Now, I hope John Mayer won’t come anymore or else we’ll surely regret this since we had such good seats!
Then we dropped off hubby’s old guitar to have it fixed. I told Z we’re going to go see a guitar doctor and he smiled because he hadn’t seen one. Too bad I don’t have my camera I could have taken some nice pictures to share.
The guitar doctor’s place was near Welcome Rotunda and after that our next stop was Makati to visit Z’s grandpa. We were not familiar with the roads anymore so that’s when our roadtrip started. We drove and drove not knowing where we were until finally we found ourselves in Quiapo, we also passed by Manila Zoo, Manila Ocean Park, before finally arriving at Makati. We got there so hungry and ready to eat an elephant so thank goodness it was grandpa’s treat.

We’re back to watching movies in the theater – a hobby we gave up when Z was born. Now that he is old enough to be taken to the movie house and we’re living the last six months before our new bundle of joy arrives we want to watch all the movies that we can. The problem is there are so many movies and we simply can’t keep up so yesterday we bought not one but three DVDs – one for Z, one for Dad, and one for moi. We always buy one for each member of the family so that everyone will have a movie to look forward to. It works and even Daddy who’d rather read movie synopsis on the internet instead of watching joined our movie marathon.
We watched it on the laptop but it’s not the same. How I wish we have a decent home theater. Anyway, we still had fun. As a matter of fact, we have finished watching two out of the three DVDs. Next time to complete our movie watching experience I’ll remember to pop some popcorn before the movie starts and buy some softdrinks because Daddy just loves eating popcorn in the movie house. Our dream home theater has to wait but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue the movie fun at the comfort of our home.

Z said almost all his classmates are girls. I’m sure he is disappointed as Z prefers to play with boys than girls at this age. It’s different than with his previous school where there were more boys than girls but they were 25 in class before. Now, they’re less than 15 and with two teachers I hope he’ll be better supervised. He used to arrive home with incomplete seatworks. I’m glad the teacher rewards them for finishing their work. Z likes rewards very much and even if it’s just a simple stamp on the hand or a sticker it is enough for him. He told me he likes his teacher now way better because of her stamps with assorted shapes. He even completed his coloring work in a hurry just to get the star stamped on his hand right away.
