Overcoming Shyness

Z is a little bit on the shy side. I think he got it from me. When I was a little girl I would love going to my grandma’s school. She’s a teacher there. What I hate about it though was the students were always staring and pointing at me. I was a kid, about five years old I think and you know how people are with kids. Well, if some kids revel at the attention I hated it. So I would hold on to my grandma’s skirt and try to hide behind it. I would never let go and she would always reprimand me for that.
Now I understand why she’s like that to me because every time Z refuses to leave my side I would always tell him to go and play with his friends. Yesterday, at their Fun Day I thought he was not going to participate. Well, he didn’t at first but he proved me wrong in the end. He joined the parlor games and even sang impromptu onstage with his classmates. I was so proud of him because looking back at myself I wouldn’t have been able to do it if I was in his place. He’s so much better than me at overcoming shyness already and that makes me so happy that I almost forgot that I need to buy a tretinoin cream at the drugstore afterwards. So as a treat for a job well done me and his dad are going to treat him on his favorite rides at Festival Mall. I can’t wait to see the look in his eyes when he sees the train that goes around the mall which he loves so much.

  1. Congratulations to Z! I think, if our kids do things better than we did, then 1/8 of our job is done :)

We liken Aori to a diesel car during activities. With classmates, he’s unstoppable. But with unknonwn kids, he observes first, if he likes, he’ll join. If ayaw, wala, mapapagod ka kakapilit.

Is that the train sa ground floor or lower ground? We used to visit Festival mall too when my inlaws were in Las Pinas. We were always on the floor wiht toys and clothes hehe..
