Addiction Treatment is not an easy process. A person who submits himself to a drug rehab will find himself in a long and painful process of healing his addiction. Sometimes it will be hard to see the light at the end of a tunnel. Sometimes they declare themselves healed from their addiction only to backslide and find themselves at step one again. Drug Treatment, nevertheless, is not something unattainable. The best way is to seek professional help. Like any disease that needs medical treatment, drug addicts need a professional and sometimes medical care to be healed from their addiction.
The first step is always the hardest to make and that is to admit that they need help. It’s hard to face the unpleasant reality and admit that they have a serious problem. Many drug addicts fail to do the first but most vital step. They believe that they can cure their addiction themselves and stubbornly hold onto that belief. Sadly, that can be the difference between life and death.
You can make a difference and help a person with that kind of problem but the first step is spotting a person with a problem. Here are some of the signs that a person might have a drug addiction problem.
* Bloodshot eyes
* Not normal behaviour
* Always disappearing for long periods of time
* Problems with work or school
* Excessive shaking or tremors
* Sudden weight loss or weight gain
* Avoidance of social situations
* Changes in clothing such as wearing long sleeves to hide injection marks
* Spacey or unintelligible conversation
It’s definitely not easy to determine if someone you know is taking drugs but once you do you might be able to save that person’s life.
