So my blog has again taken a backseat since I lost my PR and while I was wondering where I can earn cash online and before I knew it was raining projects from my transcription job again. A month or two ago, the jobs came to a halt – well, it didn’t really stop completely since I still see my fellow transcribers earning but I was getting no projects for two weeks so I lost my momentum and finally felt the effect of my working non-stop since January. The result was I lost interest in transcribing so I focused on blogging and accepted work only once or twice a week and some weeks don’t do any work at all. I also took that opportunity to try my luck on niche blogging but unfortunately, I’m still not earning through that route. My adsense is still $13.00 and not counting. Meanwhile my husband just got his dollars at Western Union and is waiting for his next payout.
So now I’m quite happy that we are receiving projects left and right and way more than we can handle. Before I only do a 60-minute audio a day but now I have even surprised myself that I can actually do much more than that. I wake up as early as 12 am just to get a head start on a file so that I have time to accompany Z to school. While at school, I work on the remainder of the audio so that by the time he’s done in class I’m already done or almost done. But since we have backlog of audios that have a deadline I get another file which I will transcribe in the afternoon. Now it’s already Saturday and I’m not sure if I was in my right mind last Friday but I checked out a total of 3 audios for the weekend which is equivalent to three hours of interview. Those needed to be transcribed by Monday. For those who have no idea, a 60 minute audio can take from 6 to 8 hours to transcribe depending on how fast you are and how clear the audio is. Normally, I would only do one audio during the weekend so this is really not normal. Actually, I’m still itching to check out a fourth audio that’s up for grabs and it’s just taking all of my willpower to actually stop myself from this madness. Yes, I’m really going crazy and transforming into a transcriber monster.
Normally, I wake up at 4 am but because of this madness I force myself to wake up at 2 am and sometimes as early as 12 midnight! If you are wondering where I get my inspiration to wake up in the wee hours of the morning when it’s cold and dark and all you wanted to do is snuggle in the comforts of your bed and dig your head deeper in your fluffy pillows well that’s easy. I just think of my husband and how he’s so amazing to wake up at three in the morning, take a bath, and brave the dark streets just to get to work. When I think of that I immediately open my eyes, force myself to stand, turn on the computer, and begin transcribing. I definitely have it easy compared to my husband since I just work at home. I still wonder how he does it since I tried that when I was working at a call center years ago but I wasn’t able to last long. So I asked him how he does it and he told me he has no choice since he has hungry mouths to feed! LOL
So maybe it’s an endless cycle, I get inspired to work by thinking about him getting up to work and he gets his inpiration to get up to go to work by thinking of us going hungry.

@ Jade – Oo nga I actually overdid it the other day by not sleeping till 3am and the next day I felt like hell. My calendar is already marked on that day.
