It’s been more than a year that I have been blogging and sometimes I admit I run out of things to write. That’s why I thought it’s finally about time to join memes, particularly Mommy Moments. Since the topic for this week is School Days and I have already flooded my blog with posts and pictures about Z’s first day of school, I decided to post about a different kind of school that Z attended last summer – his Summer Class and Vacation Bible School. Last May was quite busy as we scramble to prepare the usually shy Z to get adapted to being with a lot of children. We initially had a hard time finding a summer school but thankfully we found one just a few blocks away from our village and where we eventually enrolled Z for Kinder. Before the Summer Class ended, a small party was held and here are a few snapshots:

My husband grew up attending Vacation Bible school every summer. Vacation Bible School is a religious education program held by churches especially for the children during summer. He said it’s been one of the great influences in his life and molded him into a God-fearing person. That’s why he wanted Z to experience VBS like the way he experienced it during his childhood. Z’s first VBS was three days packed with storytelling, playing games, and singing. On the fourth day they held their graduation and everyone had to perform. Of course we were very excited and captured it on video. Brace yourself as you watch Z’s first ever public performance! LOL
Hi Paula,
Welcome to MM, last week was my first entry so technically newbie pa rin ako. But it has been really fun and good way to meet fellow mommies.
I used to teach VBS every summer when i was still with MGC-New Life Academy, abang guro ako dun dati before we decided to move here in UAE (well, for greener pasture)… Its the best summer activity for kids kasi foundation nila yan sa kanilang spiritual personality. If you can, its good to send them din to Sunday Schools. Sabi nga di ba “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he grows old he will not depart from it.”
Have a great weekend! God bless
It’s good that he spent his summer time with positive activities. I wish we had summer school nearby, unfortunately we couldn’t find one. Not so many schools have holiday programs here in Indonesia. Thanks for stopping by and have a good weekend
That sounds like one cool summer school. My kids enjoy Sunday School, too!
that’s a cool grin. i didn’t know VBS has an impact like that. i attended VBS as a kid too. and you would know it’s a VBS graduation because each kid wears a ‘golden’ crown, with the matching binignit afterwards for the chow
i would like to welcome you to mommy moments! its always great to have someone new join us…
i think its great that your kid gets to attend DVBS… my daughter is not so used to big crowds so she still hasnt attended DVBS…
