LASIK Technology for People with Poor Vision

I am not blessed with perfect vision. It started when I was in high school when I noticed I could not read the words in written in the blackboard anymore. When we had my vision checked I remember feeling sad that I had to start wearing glasses. For a girl like me who was in high school, wearing glasses was definitely not fashionable but I have no choice but wear it since the opthalmologist said it will be good for my eyes. I was hoping that my vision will become normal again but it seemed to get poorer and poorer. When I was in college I ditched the glasses and started wearing contact lenses. I was thrilled with it at first but then it became a bother to remove and clean it every night. I soon got tired with it and now that I am staying at home, I do not wear glasses nor contact lenses.
I have heard of the procedure called LASIK which is a surgical procedure to correct one’s vision. I could not believe it when I first heard it, a life with perfect vision where I do not have to squint just to see what is written on television when I am watching the news, no more blurred faces of people when I go out, no more need to buy glasses or the hassle of putting on lenses, ah that is perfect for me. I am secretly hoping I can have it done when I have enough money. Since a surgery will be performed on the eyes I am aware that it has risks but it will be comforting to know that serious complications are less than 1% and some of the complications are eventually resolved over time. Aside from it being a painless procedure, recent development combines 3D mapping and customized treatment for the 1st all-laser technology which the US Military and NASA have approved for use on their pilots and astronauts.
I hope when the time comes, I will be eligible for this procedure, I heard only 75% are eligible. For people like me who are thinking of having this surgery it is best to do your own research and get your LASIK information. Also, look for a reputable doctor who can perform this procedure.
